Servant of the Lake Endings — Harvey and the Lake
What Sunday's departure does to the new servant, and what Kate's letters add after credits.
Servant of the Lake does not offer branching Sunday dinners. The shipped weekend has one main departure and one post-credits secret. You arrive as a nameless new hire; you leave as Harvey, the true servant of the lake, carrying baby James. This page is story framing. Puzzle steps stay on Day 3 and Kate’s brother.
The main Sunday ending
Friday teaches the house. Saturday steals timepieces and the cave book. Sunday brews the elixir, stages a farewell dinner, and breaks when the chandelier falls. You treat Aldous’s wounds, free a locked passage, set outdoor statues to 3:00 / 8:00 / 5:00, take James, and close the coach curtains. To survive the blood moon you drink. The body that steps into the night is Harvey—the same name Roots players already know as a later Vanderboom fixture.
Rusty Lake’s store copy already called you the new servant who must choose whom to trust. The ending answers that line without a second cinematic fork: trust was never a dialogue wheel. The lake takes the staff who finish the weekend.
What does not branch
There is no confirmed “good dinner / bad dinner” split, no sibling romance route, and no Demo-style carriage ending that skips Sunday. Optional trophies (wine the baby, fly in the soup, parrot elixir) change a line or a toast, not the coach you board. Missable achievements are listed on achievements; they do not unlock alternate credits.
The post-credits ending
After The Departure, Kate asks about her brother, last year’s servant. Notebook replay across wake, bath, alchemy, attic, and cellar leads to telescope code 6294 and a window that shows where he was taken. That clip is the You’ve Found Him beat. It does not replace Harvey’s escape; it explains the hiring cycle. Read the letter order on Kate’s brother.
How this sits next to Roots
Rusty Lake: Roots already showed later Vanderboom generations and elixir obsession. This prequel fills the 1839 weekend that manufactures both the elixir recipe and a servant identity the lake can reuse. You do not need to finish Roots first. If you have, Harvey’s new face is the intended chill, not a continuity error. Broader series notes: Roots connection and Vanderboom family.
Replay value
Chapter select after credits is how you hunt trophies and Kate’s chain without a second 4–5 hour blind run. The weekend checklist marks both the story departure and the secret telescope. For mechanical clocks and boxes, stay on full-game codes.
This wiki will not invent extra endings from datamines or jokes. If a patch adds a true second path, this page will say so after the shipped build shows it.
What to read next
If you just finished the coach and want the next mechanical step, stay on Day 3 until The Departure toast fires, then open the notebook. If you care more about who Kate is asking after, start Kate’s brother before you wander the cellar again. Trophy hunters should skim achievements so First Aid and Safety Test are not left behind on the same night you become Harvey. Series context without another spoiler dump sits on Roots connection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do I become Harvey?
Yes. After the blood-moon escape you drink, transform, and leave with James as Harvey, the lake's servant.
Are there multiple story endings?
One main Sunday departure plus a post-credits Kate hunt. Optional trophies do not fork the credits.
Does You've Found Him change the main ending?
No. It is an extra clip after credits that explains the missing previous servant.
Do I need Roots to understand the ending?
No. Roots veterans will recognise Harvey and elixir themes; newcomers still get a complete weekend story.
Can I replay only the ending?
Use notebook chapter select after credits. The Departure and Kate's later cellar visit are separate chapters.
